| The Republican Women's
Club of Kerr County was originally formed on May 26, 1967. In the 1990's
the organization's name was changed to "Republican Women of Kerr County". Any woman believing in the principals of the Republican Party and intending to support its candidates is eligible for membership. By joining, she is automatically a member of the National and Texas Federations of Republican Women. As an auxiliary to the Republican Party, the women's organization supports the objectives and policies of the party, works for the election of the parties nominees, promotes an informed public through political education & activities and fosters loyalty to the Republican Party, its candidates and ideals. Some of the organization's community activities through the years include giving flags which have flown over the nations capital to nursing homes and other organizations, supporting the Habitat for Humanity, Dietert Senior Center, Our American Troops, and Doyle School Community Center <http://www.dovlescc.org/>. For years the club has donated books through the Mamie Eisenhower Library Project and the Barbara Bush Literacy Program to area schools and the library, and has also given dictionaries to every 3rd grader. In addition, trees have been planted. The Republican Women of Kerr County have won numerous awards from both the National and Texas Federations of Republican Women, and many members have participated in NFRW and TFRW conventions. The RWKC meets on the third Friday of the month at the Inn of the Hills for a luncheon meeting and programs, with the exception of December. Prospective members and guest are always welcome! |
